Chris began his law enforcement career in 2005, joining the Dallas Police Department. Over the course of nearly 13 years, he was fortunate to serve in a variety of roles, patrol officer, vice detective, auto theft detective, and narcotics detective. During his career he amassed over 70 commendations and various awards including a Life Saving Award, a Police Commendation Award, and a Certificate of Merit. Though he enjoyed his time at the Dallas Police Department, he met his wife Penny and decided to move with her to Maui, Hawaii, honorably retiring in 2018. While in Maui, he supervised the Welfare Fraud Investigations Division – Maui County, working for the State of Hawaii.

It was in Hawaii, Chris decided it was time for a career change and obtained his life insurance license to begin the transition into the financial industry. Personal finance, budgeting, and investing were always a passion and interest he had outside of law enforcement.

During his time in law enforcement, Chris developed a deep understanding of the challenges first responders and their families face, in particular the stressors of shift work and unpredictable schedules that come with the job. Chris fell victim to the trap of knowing he could work unlimited overtime and extra jobs, as a result, his personal spending quickly outpaced his income – landing him in a fair amount of consumer debt in addition to student loans. It’s this knowledge and personal experience that drives Chris’s passion to help others avoid the very same trap. It wasn’t until he met his wife that he put his knack for financial planning to work and got himself debt free including his student loans and fully paid for their wedding in relatively short order.

Today, Chris is a dedicated financial professional, holding a Series 65 securities license and a life insurance license.  He has also completed Financial Coach Master Training (FCMT) and is actively pursuing the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation from the American College to better serve his clients and make the retirement they envision, a reality.

Driven by his passion for helping others and avoiding the same mistakes he made, Chris works with clients to achieve total financial wellness, believing that having a solid financial foundation is essential for reducing stress, achieving a balanced and fulfilling life while working towards a long-lasting, and enjoyable retirement.
